Summer Immersion Program Application Information
The Wake Forest Summer Immersion Program application opens annually on November 1st for the following summer. To apply, students must create a student portal account and submit a completed application. To be considered for the Summer Immersion Program, students must meet all eligibility requirements and submit all required application components.
Eligibility:
- Current high school students in grades 9 through 12.
- A clean high school disciplinary record.
- A strong academic background combined with a genuine passion for learning.
- Open to students from all geographic locations. Please note that all our programs are conducted in English. Students must be fluent in English to fully participate. Applications submitted in a language other than English cannot be considered for admission to the program.
Who Should Apply?
We encourage applications from students who exhibit a strong dedication to academics and a desire to explore a field of study or future career pathway while still in high school.
Application Components:
- Two well-crafted essays that respond to the question prompts.
- A recommendation from a teacher, school counselor or administrator who knows the student well.
- A self-reported GPA (Transcript not required).

Need-based Scholarships
Limited need-based scholarship funding is available for the Wake Forest Summer Immersion Program. To be considered for a scholarship, students must complete the scholarship section of the general application. Information from the previous year’s W-2 is required. We advise students to apply early, as scholarship funding is often depleted by January.
*Students classified as international students are not eligible to receive need-based aid or scholarships.
Admissions Decisions
Admissions decisions are made on a rolling basis starting in November. While students are accepted to the general Summer Immersion Program, they are not guaranteed a seat in their preferred institute. To secure a seat in an institute, accepted students must complete the registration form linked in their acceptance email and submit a $550 deposit. During this process, students can select an available institute or be added to a waitlist for the week(s) that work best with their summer schedules. Early application is recommended, as popular institutes may implement waitlists by January.
