Letter to Deacon Parents

Welcome to the Wake Forest University Summer Immersion Program. We are thrilled that your son or daughter plans to spend part of his or her summer with us on the Wake Forest Reynolda Campus or Wake Forest Charlotte Campus.

Our distinguished faculty members include renowned scholars, industry leaders and faculty professionals who bring a lifetime of experience and engagement to each institute. Dedicated to the art of teaching and sharing their discipline’s knowledge and skills, faculty members are also deeply involved in the Wake Forest community.

Attending a summer academic program at a university can be a significant event for a high school student, as well as for their parents. Our programs attract rising sophomores, juniors, seniors and incoming college freshmen from around the world. The student scholars we admit to our programs are ready to handle the challenges of college life, both socially and academically and we appreciate the confidence each family places in us to provide their son or daughter with a safe and enriching experience.

As one of the nation’s premiere collegiate universities, Wake Forest’s primary mission is the education of students. Our community is home to an undergraduate population of roughly 4,900 students and graduate and professional programs consisting of Schools of Law, Divinity, Medicine, Business and Arts and Sciences. During the summer months, our campus hosts numerous summer programs and activities. Students of all ages converge on campus for weeks of training, education and recreation.

While experiencing our Summer Immersion Program, your student will have access to the amenities and resources open to Wake Forest students, including dining options, residence halls, and wireless internet connectivity. As always, the safety of students is our highest priority. A team of professional staff members, as well as Wake Forest undergraduate student, Program Assistants, ensure that students have a meaningful experience while at Wake Forest. The student-to-staff ratio is 10:1 during the summer to ensure that students are properly supervised during the week.
