The Wake Forest University Charlotte campus is located in 30,000 square feet of space in the former International Trade Center Building at 200 North College Street. Residing near some of the city’s most influential businesses and corporations, steps away from the Carolina Panthers stadium and Charlotte Hornets arenas and in the heart of the second largest banking center in the United States, the Queen City allows students to truly immerse themselves in a city with unlimited possibilities. Our programs hosted in Charlotte offer a unique opportunity to experience career pathways in the heart of a big city and the potential to network with leaders.
The Wake Forest Charlotte Center’s urban setting provides a convenient proximity to major businesses, organizations, sports teams and working professionals who share their experience and knowledge with our scholars. The unique features and communal spaces of the Charlotte Center make it a perfect setting for guest lectures, workshops and labs.
Talented high school sophomores, juniors, seniors and incoming freshmen will build confidence, interact with and learn from industry experts and gain lasting friendships all while experiencing beautiful, Uptown Charlotte. The Charlotte program will offer six institutes (Business & Entrepreneurship, Law, Leadership, Medicine, Sports Marketing and Technology).
If students are interested in participating in Charlotte institutes with a residential component, we will offer optional housing on the campus of Johnson and Wales University. Johnson and Wales is a local university also in Uptown Charlotte and will allow our out-of-state students the ability to participate in our Charlotte institutes. Students will live in undergraduate residence halls under the supervision of Wake Forest University college students and staff as well as eat breakfast and dinner in the campus dining hall. Bed linens and towels are provided.
Evenings are packed with local area excursions, social gatherings, intramural sports, residence hall activities, and adventures on and off campus. The residential program integrates learning and teambuilding into every day of the week and students are encouraged to learn while having fun.
Undergraduate student mentors offer guidance and insight into college-life throughout the week and industry experts share their knowledge and expertise about possible career paths during the day. This balance allows students a transformational opportunity that will prepare them for college and beyond!
